Temu Partners with IACC to Launch Dedicated IP Protection Program
According to foreign media reports, cross-border e-commerce platform Temu and the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (IACC) have officially launched the IACC-Temu IP Protection Program. The IACC is a global IP protection collaborative organization whose members include brands, internet platforms, and related enforcement coordination entities worldwide. Earlier this year, Temu joined the organization as a general member. The voluntary cooperation program launched this time aims to provide IACC member brands with a smoother escalation channel for complex IP matters and to support the platform's proactive enforcement actions.
The program serves as a supplement to Temu's existing IP reporting channel, and the original reporting channel open to all rights holders remains fully operational. IACC member brands participating in the program can use the IACC global portal to escalate pending review notices, feedback notices in which rights holders request further review, and rejected notices. They can also submit keywords and image assets to help the platform identify and address potential risks in advance before infringement is reported. Brands can participate in quarterly trilateral routine communication meetings, receive detailed feedback on escalation requests, regularly receive program status reports and related insights, and access one-on-one contact with Temu IP experts through a dedicated escalation channel. All escalation requests submitted through the program receive a response within 48 hours.
IACC Chairman Bob Barchiesi said in the program introduction that Temu co-founder Dada Sun had previously led a team to meet with the IACC, and that exchange laid the foundation for strengthening the partnership between the two sides and directly drove the launch of this program. Initial feedback from member brands on the program has been largely positive, confirming the value of collaboration among stakeholders in addressing IP challenges.
Temu said that effective IP protection requires both strong enforcement measures and close collaboration with rights holders. This program combines the two types of measures, enabling more efficient handling of complex infringement cases and supporting the implementation of proactive prevention and control efforts.
Temu's own IP protection framework already covers the entire platform operation process, with mechanisms in place from seller qualification review and pre-listing product screening to continuous 24/7 monitoring after listing. Temu's 2026 IP Protection Report shows that for every infringing product taken down based on user complaints, 331 potentially infringing products are proactively removed before being reported. The platform's proactive monitoring database currently covers more than 15,000 brands, roughly three times the scale of the previous year, and has incorporated more than 47 million images and 9.5 million keywords as monitoring and comparison assets. The keywords and images submitted by brands in this program will be directly added to this proactive monitoring system.
The program will continue to iterate based on ongoing collaboration with IACC member brands, further optimizing IP protection and enforcement results on the platform.
