SHEIN Expands U.S. Local Fulfillment Network with New 737,000-Square-Foot Automated Warehouse in Indiana

[Ebrun Original]News broke on September 16, per foreign media reports, that SHEIN opened a new warehouse in Lebanon, Indiana less than two weeks after its public listing.

According to an official company announcement, the newly launched facility spans 737,000 square feet, further expanding SHEIN’s footprint in Indiana, where its total occupied warehousing and related facilities now exceed 2.5 million square feet.

The new warehouse adopts a goods-to-person fulfillment system, which uses robots and automation to transport items to employee workstations to boost warehousing and order processing efficiency.

"SHEIN’s ongoing investment in Indiana reflects our commitment to building a more flexible, resilient and innovative distribution network, while creating economic opportunities in the communities where we operate," said George Chiao, President of SHEIN U.S.

SHEIN stated the new warehouse will create "hundreds of new jobs" in the region. The company currently employs more than 1,300 people across Indiana, and headcount across the state is expected to grow further as the new facility ramps up operations.

Public records show SHEIN established its primary distribution center in Whitestown, Indiana in 2022, and designated central Indiana as a key hub for its U.S. distribution network. The launch of the new warehouse is further evidence of SHEIN’s continued deep investment in Indiana, as it steadily expands local operations and headcount.

Per SHEIN’s prospectus, as of June 30, 2026, the company leases and manages approximately 6 million square meters of regional distribution warehouses globally, including six facilities in the U.S. with a total warehousing area of 408,000 square meters.

In 2025, the U.S. eliminated the previous de minimis duty exemption for imported goods valued under $800, exposing direct cross-border small-parcel shipments to higher tariffs and fulfillment costs. SHEIN’s expansion of its Indiana warehouse comes against this backdrop as the company ramps up its local fulfillment capabilities.
