Amazon Joins YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program, Creators Earn Commissions for Product Promotions

According to foreign media reports, Amazon has officially integrated into the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program recently. Eligible creators based in the U.S. can tag Amazon platform products in YouTube Shorts, long-form videos, and live streaming content, allowing viewers to jump directly from YouTube to Amazon to complete purchases. Compared to the previous model of placing links in the description section, this feature can further unlock the revenue potential of creators' channels.

It is reported that creators need to meet multiple requirements to tag Amazon products and earn commissions: they must join the YouTube Partner Program, participate in the U.S. region's YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program, hold a valid account for either the Amazon Influencer Program or Amazon Associates Program, and complete the binding between the corresponding account and their YouTube channel. Creators who have not yet joined Amazon's relevant affiliate programs can complete registration first before binding their accounts; those who have already joined the corresponding programs can directly go to the Amazon store homepage, select the account binding entry on the edit profile page, and complete channel verification following the on-page prompts.

After completing account binding and obtaining permissions, creators can use the product selection tool in YouTube Studio to pick eligible Amazon products and add them to their content. If creators enable the auto-tagging feature, YouTube will review previously uploaded content, automatically identify and tag eligible Amazon products, and newly uploaded content can also be included in the auto-tagging scope later.
