Amazon Restricts Users from Accessing Full Product Reviews, Unlock Applications Can Take Up to 5 Days to Process

According to foreign media reports, a persistent issue has emerged on Amazon's platform since the start of 2026 where users are unable to view all product reviews. Once users trigger the restriction, only a small number of reviews are displayed on the page. To access more reviews, users are required to submit an application, and the platform notes that application results will be notified via email within a maximum of 5 working days.

Related feedback first appeared in November 2025, and the volume of such feedback has gradually increased since February 2026. Some users have contacted the platform's customer service regarding this issue, and customer service responded that the problem has been escalated and asked users to wait 2 working days. Many users have stated that they will not wait for the review access to be unlocked, and when they have immediate shopping needs, they will directly switch to other platforms that allow full access to product reviews.

Relevant official statements noted that the measure to restrict review access is aimed at combating unauthorized data scraping on the site. The platform previously noticed isolated cases where some users were unable to access reviews, and has launched related work to safeguard users' access rights.

Many sellers have also expressed concerns about the measure in official discussion forums. Users' inability to view all reviews will reduce their trust in the platform, directly leading to user churn. The impact of individual negative reviews will be amplified, as some negative reviews stemming from user misunderstandings will not have their context visible to other consumers, directly hurting product conversion rates. Sellers are also unable to identify product issues in a timely manner through complete reviews, nor can they report non-compliant reviews, which will ultimately hurt the sales performance of all sellers across the platform.
