Teleport Signs Deal with Melbourne Avalon Airport to Set Up Oceania Regional Operations Hub

On August 13, it was announced that Teleport has recently signed a cooperation agreement with Melbourne Avalon Airport, planning to make Avalon Airport its regional operations hub in Oceania. Teleport stated that the first phase of operations is scheduled to launch in the second half of 2026, with initial efforts focused on launching cross-border e-commerce freight routes from China to Avalon Airport.

According to information disclosed by Teleport, its existing aviation network already connects major Asian markets with key Australian airports, with origins including mainland China, Hong Kong SAR of China, India, Malaysia, Vietnam and others, reaching airports in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and more. Following this cooperation, Avalon Airport will be positioned as the Oceania regional hub, and will work with the airport's existing partner airlines to expand into Oceania, Middle East and European markets.

WorldACD cargo volume statistics show that Teleport currently ranks first in Southeast Asia and ninth in Asia in terms of air freight scale; its network covers 80 countries and more than 290 cities across the Asia-Pacific and the rest of the world, with over 55 partner airlines. The press release also cited data showing that Australia's online consumption scale will be close to 19 billion Australian dollars in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 13%.

It is understood that Avalon Airport, located in Victoria, is one of Australia's international freight ports. Pete Chareonwongsak, Chief Executive Officer of Teleport, noted that the airport features 24/7 operations without curfews, fast ground turnaround, and flexible passenger and cargo compatibility, which can handle both e-commerce express shipments and general cargo.
