eBay to Standardize Clothing and Footwear Size Entry Rules Starting August

On July 28, it was announced that eBay recently issued a reminder to fashion category sellers regarding standardized size adjustments taking effect in August. For the clothing and footwear categories, the 'Size' field will be changed from 'optional and customizable' to 'mandatory with standardized values.' Since June, the platform has begun automatically standardizing high-confidence size descriptions, such as converting 'Small' uniformly to 'S' and 'Medium' to 'M'. Starting in July, new or revised listings submitted via API, File Exchange, or third-party ERPs with non-standard or missing size information will be directly blocked or have their display paused by the system. From August 1st, sellers will be unable to create or modify listings containing invalid sizes or mixed-value entries such as 'See description,' 'N/A,' or 'S/M/L.' Some historical listings may also be hidden due to system detection of anomalies.
