Amazon US to Implement Electronic CPSC Certificate Filing Requirement from July 8; FBA Regulated Goods Require Advance Declaration

On June 5, Amazon US notified all FBA sellers that starting July 8, 2026, all imported consumer goods destined for US fulfillment centers and falling under the jurisdiction of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)—including children's products, apparel, certain electronics, and household goods—must complete the electronic filing of data related to the Certificate of Compliance (GCC/CPC) via the CBP's ACE system or the CPSC's official product registration system before the goods reach customs. This measure will replace the previous method of attaching certificates with shipments or conducting post-arrival inspections. Failure to file on time may result in customs clearance delays or shipment rejection. For goods imported into Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs), the grace period for this requirement is extended to January 8, 2027. Sellers can log in to the CPSC website and use the Regulatory Robot tool to check if their ASINs fall under regulated categories. If confirmed as regulated, sellers need to prepare seven types of information in advance, including product ID, applicable regulation citation codes, manufacturing date and location, testing date and laboratory information, and contact details, and then authorize a customs broker to perform pre-filing.
