Shopee Adds 7-Day Grace Period to Penalty Appeal Process in Vietnam and Taiwan

On April 3, Shopee announced that, in order to enhance the appeal experience for sellers, it will adjust the penalty appeal mechanism for its Vietnam and Taiwan sites starting April 13, 2026, introducing a new "appeal grace period." The main adjustments are as follows: A new 7-day appeal grace period will be added: Starting from the day a seller receives a penalty point, the platform will provide a grace period of 7 calendar days. During this period, all penalty measures related to the point will be temporarily suspended. If the seller successfully appeals within the grace period, the penalty point will be removed, and the corresponding penalty will not take effect. Late activation mechanism: If the seller does not successfully appeal within the 7-day grace period (including cases where no appeal is submitted, the appeal is under review, or the appeal is rejected), the relevant penalty will officially take effect on the first Monday following the penalty point issuance. The overall appeal period remains unchanged: The total appeal period for penalty points is still 14 calendar days, which includes the aforementioned 7-day grace period. Notes for sellers: It is recommended to submit complete appeal materials within 2 working days of receiving the penalty point to ensure review completion within the same week, thereby having the opportunity to resolve the issue before the penalty takes effect. If submission is delayed or materials are incomplete, leading to the review not being completed within the week, the penalty will take effect on the following Monday. However, sellers can still continue the appeal process within the remaining total appeal period (up to 7 days).
