MercadoLibre's 2025 GMV Jumps 26% YoY to $65 Billion, Surpasses 120 Million Unique Buyers

[Ebrun Exclusive] Latin American e-commerce platform MercadoLibre recently released its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2025. The financial report shows that the company's full-year net revenue reached $28.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 39%; operating profit reached $3.2 billion, up 22% year-on-year.

In the e-commerce sector, MercadoLibre's Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) for 2025 reached $65 billion, a 26% increase compared to the previous year; over 2.4 billion items were sold; and the number of annual unique buyers surpassed 120 million.

In the fourth quarter alone, the platform's GMV reached $19.9 billion, growing 37% year-on-year; approximately 752 million items were sold, a 43% increase; the number of quarterly unique buyers exceeded 83 million, rising 24% and hitting a record high; the average number of items purchased per buyer reached 9, up 15% year-on-year; and same-day and next-day delivery order volume grew by 29% compared to the same period last year.

Looking at regional market performance: In Brazil, lowering the threshold for free shipping was a key growth driver. In Q4, the number of items sold by MercadoLibre increased by 45% year-on-year, with GMV growing 35%. In Mexico, the number of items sold rose 45% year-on-year, and GMV increased by 35%. In Argentina, items sold grew 36% year-on-year, while GMV saw a significant 42% year-on-year increase.

Additionally, it is worth noting that cross-border business, a key strategic focus for MercadoLibre in 2025, has begun to show results from its investments. The company's cross-border business growth accelerated quarter by quarter throughout the year, culminating in a strong 74% GMV growth in the fourth quarter.
