TikTok Shop Merchant Wallet Introduces Dual Incentives with Extensive Fee Reductions

[Ebrun Exclusive] January 28th - TikTok Shop's cross-border e-commerce division has officially announced that from now until February 28th, 2026, the platform will launch a limited-time dual incentive policy for merchants using the Merchant Wallet. This initiative aims to significantly reduce withdrawal, payment, and foreign exchange fees, thereby lowering the capital costs associated with cross-border operations and enhancing merchants' capital turnover efficiency.

According to the official disclosure, the incentives consist of two tiers.

The first tier is a basic fee waiver: during the promotional period, merchants can enjoy 'zero fees' for withdrawals and foreign exchange transactions. Additionally, the first three payment transactions each month will be completely fee-free.

The second tier is available to eligible merchants, who can apply for additional fee reductions and more favorable exchange rate conditions on top of the basic policy, further compressing the costs of cross-border collection and payments.

TikTok Shop introduced the Merchant Wallet as an all-in-one official cross-border payment solution designed for Chinese cross-border merchants, covering core processes such as collection, payment, currency exchange, and settlement. Merchants can directly activate the wallet within the Merchant Center, bind their stores with one click, and perform operations like withdrawals, payments, and real-time currency exchanges. The entire process is highly integrated, reducing the complexity and time costs associated with cross-platform operations.

In terms of applicability, the Merchant Wallet already supports various business models and key markets.

Specifically, cross-border self-operated (POP) merchants can use it in the United States, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Japan, and Mexico.

Fully hosted merchants have access in the United States, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France, and Italy.

Locally hosted merchants are covered in Spain, Germany, France, and Italy.

Overall, the Merchant Wallet has developed a relatively comprehensive cross-regional adaptability, capable of meeting the fund settlement needs of merchants at different stages and under different models.

The platform officially stated that compared to third-party payment channels, the TikTok Shop Merchant Wallet holds significant advantages in security, operational efficiency, and cost transparency.

On one hand, as an official payment tool, it offers higher guarantees in terms of compliance and fund security, helping to mitigate compliance risks in cross-border fund flows. On the other hand, for merchants operating stores in multiple countries, the Merchant Wallet enables unified settlement across different markets directly through the Merchant Center, eliminating the need to integrate with various payment channels separately, thus shortening the fund flow process and improving management efficiency.

Regarding the fee structure, the Merchant Wallet promotes a 'low or even zero fee' strategy. Withdrawals maintain a long-term zero fee, supplier payments enjoy a waiver for the first three transactions per month during the promotion, and related-party payments achieve a zero fee for all transactions within the promotional period.

Simultaneously, the platform emphasizes the transparency of its exchange rate mechanism; merchants can see real-time exchange rates clearly during currency conversions, achieving 'what you see is what you get,' which enhances the flexibility and predictability of fund allocation.
