It is reported that the "Billion Subsidy for Brand Going Global" project has been listed as the number one project for 2024 by AliExpress. Merchants can participate in the project using the fully managed, semi-managed, or POP model. The target merchants include cross-border bestsellers, Tmall brand merchants, and more.
Regarding the billion subsidy, relevant information has previously been disclosed. AliExpress has carried out relevant subsidy projects in South Korea; Ebrun learned from merchants that a certain automotive electronics and new energy category representative from AliExpress stated that in 2024, AliExpress will focus on resources and fully support branded and core brand merchants. Subsidies will be provided for high-GMV products, starting at a daily rate of 5%, and further enhanced during major promotions.
In addition, in this project, merchants who sign up with AliExpress can simultaneously sell on multiple e-commerce channels such as Lazada, Miravia, Daraz, and Trendyol, under the umbrella of Alibaba International, covering key global markets including Southeast Asia, South Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and more.
According to the business recruitment materials, merchants joining the "Billion Subsidy for Brand Going Global" can enjoy special support and exclusive channel traffic of the "billion subsidy". In addition, they will have brand-specific identification that will be transmitted throughout the entire chain, store branding certification, priority display of recommended products, traffic subsidies, subsidies for new product launches and more.
It is reported that well-known brands such as Huawei, Lenovo, Xiaomi, DJI, Andcables, and others have settled in, while others like Midea, Hisense, TCL, etc., are also in negotiations.
In the past year, AliExpress has comprehensively transitioned to a predominantly managed model business. Based on the advancement of supply chain efficiency, focusing on the semi-managed and fully managed Choice services, AliExpress has become the main driver for a 60% year-on-year growth in orders. Simultaneously, AliExpress continues to enhance the shopping experiences for overseas consumers. The "Global 5 Day Delivery" service, jointly created with Cainiao, already covers over 10 core countries and markets in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
